Multitracks info: Because "Blessed Assurance" is in the highly unusual meter of 9/8 I tried to make the vocal guide as concise as possible:
"1, 2, 3, intro /, /, 7, 8, 9" - make sure you have plenty of time to rehearse with this one!

This multitrack comes in 3 versions in the original key of D major:
modern, blended (ORC) and acoustic.

As I was working out the SATB, SAB and 3 part vocal parts I felt that Blessed Assurance worked better in C major, whereas a pop version with a male worship leader sounds better in D, so I'm making this arrangement available in both C and D major.

synth pad

A new sheet music file for this arrangement is for synth pad - this replaces the synth strings part if you want to get that modern worship sound (use the regular synth strings with other orchestral instruments.) You of course can never get these modern arrangements to sound exactly like the recordings unless you use multitracks, but you can approximate the sound with this synth pad part - it's exactly what I'm playing for the core synth you hear. For those who are high-tec and using laptops and soft synths, I'm using Peter James' ZION patch for Omnisphere. This is the exact sound he has used on Hillsong recordings and you can download it at multitracks.com.

guitar spotlight

This recording uses several layers of electric guitars. Like synths, you'll never be able to reproduce the track exactly without multitracks, but the guitar spotlight MP3 will help your guitarists get close by hearing clearly exactly what's going on.

recreate styles

Modern: Use multitracks or the synth pad sheet music instead of the synth strings.
Blended: Synth strings and instrumental parts sheet music.
Acoustic: Cello sheet music, use brushes with drums.

   HYMNDEX Links
The modern worship lyrics trend for projection is to leave out most punctuation for a clean look. The original hymncharts lyrics text file contains punctuation. Our website hymndex.com was created to help churches build hymn lyric slides without punctuation.
Instruments mp3s are the arrangements played one time through with just piano and instrumental parts to give you an idea of the orchestration. In the early days of hymncharts before I made vocal recordings I had created these instruments mp3s as a quick demo. Since I now create both a POP and an ORC (orchestrated) mix I no longer make instrumental mp3s for newer arrangements.
MP3 Problems?
Several subscribers have had problems downloading MP3s. Here are the 2 most typical problems and solutions:

1. How do I download the MP3s? MP3s and (if available) multitrack WAV downloads are found under the "tracks" tab. You can download these MP3s (or any files) to your computer by RIGHT clicking the button, then a little box will pop up with options. Select something like "save as"or "save link as" to manually save the MP3s to your computer where you can then burn a CD, email it to your praise team or upload it to a worship planning website.

2. The MP3 won't play in iTunes (or other media player.) All HymnCharts MP3s are free from ALL copy protection and can be used any way you want. Some people are clicking the MP3 button dragging it to iTunes or another media player. This won't work (you're actually just dragging the image file of the button!) Download the MP3 using the instructions above, then you can access it through your media player.
